Simpson Comes Up Short in Cal Pac Championships

VALLEJO, Calif. -- Simpson took on University of Antelope Valley in the semifinal game of the Cal Pac Championships, falling 83-58. A sluggish start put the Red Hawks in an early hole that they were unable to climb out of.  While playing limited minutes in the first half due to foul trouble, Aaron Berry led the Red Hawks in scoring with 14 points; Jalen Cooper added 12 points in the contest on 6-9 shooting.

The Red Hawks are poised for a strong returning class with a lot of young talent. Simpson saw a 6 game win improvement over last season, finishing 7-7 in conference.

Josh Brakkee and Aaron Berry both take home All-Conference First Team honors and Berry also captured the Newcomer of the Year award in the Cal Pac.
Both Berry and Brakkee finished with averaging 13.4 ppg.
Aron Rudd and Anthony Spencer also ended the season in double digits per game with 11.2 and 10.0 respectively.
Jalen DuPree ended his collegiate career with 10.9 ppg and third in the conference with 3.75 apg.
