REDDING, Calif -- Simpson hosted it's second round robin tournament of the year, facing off against Menlo College and the #3 team in the nation, Southern Oregon. Simpson finished .500 on the weekend, winning both against Menlo 4-3 and 8-7, but dropping both to SOU 11-2 and 7-2.

Game 1 vs Menlo:
Sydney Moorhead took the mound and the win for the Red Hawks throwing 6.1 innings and allowing just three runs on 10 hits while fanning 8. Hailee Nichols would come in and record the save pitching the final two outs in the top of the seventh. Madison Wright finished 3-4 with an RBI and a run scored as Alexis Parras drove in a pair of runs on two hits.

Game 2 vs SOU:
Simpson struggled to slow down the SOU offense allowing 11 runs on 10 hits. Fielding also plagued the Red Hawks as they committed 4 errors which led to 4 unearned runs for the Raiders. Mazzie Davies and Hailee Nichols both finished 2-3 in the loss.

Game 3 vs Menlo:
Nichols started the game throwing 5 and allowing 4. Wright continued to lead the Simpson offense finishing 2-3 including a grand slam. The Red Hawks would lose the lead on a three run 7th by the Oaks but would battle back and get the walk-off in the bottom half of the inning on a single by Emily Fuller that drove in Davies to win it. 

Game 4 vs SOU:
Brianna Lopez pitched for the first time this season and threw 4 solid innings before the Raider offense found its groove and drove in 6 of their 7 runs in the 5th. Davies went 2-4 driving in a run while Emily Fuller finished with two hits of her own.

The Red Hawks play host two William Jessup for a double header Monday the 19th. First pitch is set for 12pm.
