REDDING, Calif. -- Simpson had a hot start to the second half but it wasn't enough to hold off the Keelhaulers as they lost 76-72. The difference in the game down to outside shooting. Simpson scored two more field goals than Maritime, but the Keelhaulers put up a gaudy 30 three point attempts shooting 8-15 in the second half. The game was tightly contested in the final minutes but a pair of free throws with under a second left put the game away for Maritime.

Anthony Spencer continued to shoot well off the bench leading all scorers with 18 points on an efficient 4-6 from beyond the arc and 7-10 from the field. Aron Rudd contributed 15 points while Cooper and DuPree added 12 and 10 respectively.

The Red Hawks remain in playoff contention with just one game remaining. Simpson controls it's own fate heading into the final game and with a win, secure a spot in the Cal Pac tournament. Saturday night's game against UC Merced is set to start at 7:30 pm..
