REDDING, Calif. - Simpson baseball split the four game series with Corban University with a 23-4 loss and 4-0 victory on day two.
In his first start since coming back from injury,
James Humphrey was locked in from the opening pitch recording the first complete game shutout of the year. Humphrey gave up just five hits while striking out eight Corban batters.
In the fourth inning Simpson loaded the bases before
Zachary Jones singled two Red Hawks home for the 2-0 lead.
Thomas Ahlstrom scored the third run of the game on an RBI fielder's choice from
Andrew Shaw. The Red Hawks would add another run in the 6th off a solo homerun from
Thomas Ahlstrom.
The Red Hawks will head out on the road next weekend to face the Academy of Art University on February 17th.
