TORRENCE, Calif. - Simpson University men's soccer fell to 3rd seed Antelope Valley in the Quarterfinals of the Cal Pac Championships.

It what was a tight battle for 90 minutes, and both teams scrapped for every possession. The Simpson defense was consistently fighting off the Antelope Valley strikers as the Pioneers got off 26 shots, 18 of which that were on goal. Nyjel Buchanan had an unbelievable game in goal for the Red Hawks finishing with a career-high 17 saves.

The Red Hawks managed to only get attempt six shots, but only two were on goal.  The lone goal in the game came in the 64th minute off the foot of Manuel Medina for the game winning goal.

SU finishes the season with a big improvement for the 2017 season winning its final four regular season games to clinch a spot in the conference tournament. The men's soccer program is definitely on the upward trend under 2nd year head coach, Caleb Ikwuagwu.
