ROCKLIN, Calif. - In game two of the back to back, Simpson clashed with 21st ranked Menlo College on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Hawks had a seven point lead heading into the half 38-31, but couldn't hold off the Oaks giving up 44 second half points. Despite having few injuries to the Simpson front court, the Red Hawks gave Menlo all they could handle.
SU had four players in double figures led by
Blake Trent with 16 points followed by a 15 point performance from
JT Branch, getting his first start of the year. Off the bench, the Red Hawks were led by
Brandon Moss who recorded 14 points on six of 10 from the field in 19 minutes.
Numerous positive takeaways from Simpson's tournament, including beating William Jessup on the road and narrowly falling to a top team on the West Coast in the NAIA.
SU will remain on the road to face Notre Dame de Namur on Monday, Nov. 3rd at 6:30 pm in Belmont, Calif.
