Dutton Scores Four Goals; Simpson Stays in the Playoff Hunt

REDDING, Calif. - After a 5-1 win Thursday afternoon, the Simpson University Red Hawks men's soccer team extended its winning streak to three games and continues to be in the chase for a playoff spot in the Cal Pac.

Solomon Dutton headlined the Red Hawks top performers netting four goals, three of which in the first half. Dutton ties the Red Hawks men's soccer record for most goals by an individual in a single game.

Phillip Dinius also scored a ripper from just outside the box that found the back of the net in the 41st minute. Pacific Union's only goal came on a penalty kick mid-first half as Simpson's defense held the Pioneers to just 3 shots.

The Red Hawks playoff stake all comes down to Saturday and Sunday. In order to get into the playoffs, Simpson must beat Sierra Nevada College on Saturday and then will wait to see if UC Merced can beat La Sierra on Sunday.

SU's final regular season match kicks off at 3 p.m. in Incline Village, Nev. against Sierra Nevada College on Sat, Nov. 3rd.
