REDDING, Calif. - A slow start for the Red Hawks offensively allowed La Sierra to take an early lead that would eventually result in a 73-70 win for the Eagles.
The Red Hawks trailed by as much as 13 in the second half before tying the game at 68 on an 8-0 run. La Sierra would counter with a 3 point play that would give them the edge they needed to pull off the win.
Three Simpson players finished in double figures led by
Josh Brakkee in a double-double performance with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Anthony Spencer played his best game of the year with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Aaron Berry tallied 11 points on 4 of 8 shooting from the field.
Simpson falls to 1-1 in the Cal Pac and 5-7 overall on the season. Next, the Red Hawks will host the University of Antelope Valley on January 6th at 7:30 pm in the Grant Center.
