Simpson Captures Third Win in Four Games

SALEM, Ore. -- The Red Hawks traveled north to play in the Corban Classic, taking down Northwest University 75-70 Friday evening. Simpson defeated the Eagles for the second time in seven days, tallying their third win in their last four games.

Bouncing back from a tough loss at home to rival William Jessup, the Red Hawks saw huge numbers from their starting five, as they scored 60 of the team's 75 points. Simpson relied on their inside game to take home the win, taking just six shots from beyond the arc and making only two. Aron Rudd led the Red Hawk offense with 16 points and 5 rebounds while Brandon Moss had another solid night pulling down 6 rebounds and adding 15 points of his own. Jalen DuPree and Josh Brakkee continued to produce as well as they score 14 and 12 respectively and  Aaron Berry finished with 10 points, shooting 10-10 from the free throw line.

Simpson was big on the glass tonight, out rebounding Northwest 37-26 and continue to get better handling the ball under pressure as well, limiting their turnovers to just 14. Simpson plays their final game in Salem, Saturday night, November the 18th as they take on the host of the tournament, the Corban Warriors. The Red Hawks will look to contain the high octane Corban offense who are averaging over 97 points through their first four contests.
