REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University volleyball sported their pink uniforms in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month Saturday evening as they faced off against the Pioneers from Pacific Union College. This was also the first game under new head coach,
Andi Rodrigues, who took over earlier in the week.
The Red Hawks were in reach of winning all three sets, but the experience of the Pioneers became a factor late in each set.
Nicole Morse had a monster night finishing with 11 kills, one shy of her career-high. Simpson however was handicapped by 10 blocking errors most of which came on big points. Freshman,
Madison Stouder, stepped up in the absence of
Sara Salmon, and recorded 25 assists on the evening.
Simpson will continue to wear their pink uniforms all month and begin a 3 game road trip next week with a match in Pasadena against Providence Christian Friday at 7 pm.
