RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Simpson University women's basketball wins first game of 2017 with a 76-61 victory over La Sierra University.
A strong defensive second half from the Red Hawks propelled them to a 15 point win. Simpson forced the Golden Eagles into 30 turnovers resulting in 20 points.
Simpson was led by
Whitney Rodriguez who finished a double-double; 23 points and 15 rebounds. Despite struggling from the field,
Esther Wofford tallied 22 points, 9 of which were from the free throw line.
Fallon Greenhaw added 15 points on 6 of 9 from the floor.
The Red Hawks have now won three consecutive games and have improved to 9-10 overall and 2-1 in conference.
Simpson travels to Lancaster, Calif. to face Antelope Valley on January 7th at 5:30 pm
