MESA, Ariz. - The Simpson University men's basketball team fell on the road to Benedictine Mesa, 89-81.
Simpson was outscored by 20 in the first half and had to sit many starters due to early foul trouble. The Red Hawks dug themselves into a hole with a poor shooting first half as they only knocked down 32 percent of their attempts.
Joseph Bosetti picked up the slack scoring a season high 29 points on 11 of 17 from the field to go alongside eight rebounds.
Earl Schexnayder scored a career-high 17 points knocking down three 3-pointers on just six attempts.
Jalen Cooper also recorded a career-high 16 points on 5 of 8 from the floor.
Benedictine was lighting it up all night shooting upwards of 56 percent on the evening including 62 percent in the first half. The Redhawks received double digit scoring nights from four different players and outrebounded Simpson by nine for the contest.
Simpson slips to 3-6 in league play and is 2.5 games out of bottom playoff spot in the Cal Pac Standings.Â
The Red Hawks will come home to face Antelope Valley on February 2nd at 7:30 pm in the Grant Center.
