Red Hawks drop twinbill to Corban

REDDING, Calif.- The Red Hawks were back at it on Sunday afternoon when they faced off against the Warriors from Corban University. Unfortunately, the Red Hawks were handed two losses on the day dropping game one 8-5 and game two 11-0.

Game 1 - Corban 8, SU 5
In game one the Red Hawks took the lead in the third inning when Ryan Holmes doubled to lead off the inning and then Chase Root singled to bring him home. The Warriors would respond with a massive fourth inning scoring five times to take a 5-1 lead.

However, the Red Hawks would chip away at the deficit adding one of their own in the fifth inning on a Austin Ruffner single to score Blaine Hokama and one in the seventh inning when Mumford scored on a wild pitch.

The Red Hawks would come all the way back knotting the game up at 5-5 in the eighth inning when Rath Moseley doubled to score Kenny Sellers and Aaron Curfman.

Heading into the ninth inning with the score tied the Red Hawk bullpen could not lock things down as the Warriors struck for three runs in the inning to seal the 8-5 win.

Red Hawk starter Robert Bristol would get a no decision after throwing 6 innings allowing 5 runs on 5 hits.

Game 2 - Corban 11, SU 0
In game two it was all Warriors backed by a strong outing from their starting pitcher Thomas Kerr who would throw 7 innings and allow only 3 hits. The Warrior offense was consistiant scoring at least one run in every inning except the fifth and seventh inning and the coasted to the 11-0 victory.

Up next for the Red Hawks will be a continuation of the home stand when they will host the Warriors from Lewis-Clark State College in a four game series starting on Friday, April 22nd out at Tiger Field with first pitch scheduled for 5pm.
