ATHERTON, Calif. - Simpson University men's basketball has to swallow a tough loss to Menlo College, after falling to the Oaks 84-67.
The ice cold second half for the Red Hawks helped the Oaks stretch out a lead following the intermission. Â Simpson was outscored in the second half 43-22 by Menlo after leading at the half. Â The Red Hawks went 8/24 from the floor in the second half and was outrebounded by eight.
The Oaks shot a proficient 50 percent clip from the field and benefitted from 19 points off turnovers.
The Red Hawks were led by
Josh Brakkee, who finished with a game-high 25 points shooting 11/16 from the floor.
Menlo had four different players in double-figures including Jared Wall, who had 21 on the evening.
Simpson will head on the road for game two of the four game roadtrip as they face Northwest Nazarene University on November 11th in Nampa, ID.
