Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Season Comes to a Close on Senior Day

REDDING, Calif. -- In the final career game for eight senior Red Hawk women's soccer players, UC Merced recorded an 8-0 victory over Simpson. Despite the outcome on this day, the 2016 season will be recorded as a building campaign for the future of soccer at SU and the coaching staff under head coach Alex Mathias.

The game marked the final game in a Red Hawk uniform for Brook Gaddy, Brittany Garrison, Chelsea White, Kayla Holland, Clara Law, Meghan Hamb, Elani Freeman, and Marisa Grebe.

Simpson finishes its season 2-12-1 overall and 1-7 in the Cal Pac Conference. The league win over Providence Christian snapped a 39-game losing streak in conference play for the Red Hawks, spanning four seasons. Gaddy also set the single-game SU school record notching all the tallies in the team's 5-0 win over Mills on October 10. Gaddy finished the season with eight goals on the season. Only three players in the Cal Pac have scored more. Her 19 career tallies puts her among the top scorers in Simpson soccer history.

In her only season as a goalkeeper, White made more saves than any other netminder in the Cal Pac with 167 on the season, including a pair of clean sheet shutout victories.
