Simpson falls to No. 17 Indiana East University

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University women's basketball fell at home to Indiana University East, 87-78.

The Red Hawks bounced back after only scoring one point in the first quarter and did not record a field goal in the opening ten minutes.

Simpson owned the second quarter outscoring the Red Wolves by 12 and cutting the lead to 10 heading into the intermission.

87 points allowed by Simpson is the most they have let opponents score all season. The Red Hawks were also outrebounded by 15 on the night.

Simpson pressure defensively effected the Red Wolves at times, forcing them into a season high 34 turnovers on the evening.

Kristen Miller and Mackenzie Campbell each finished with 25 points, both shooting above 60 percent from the field.

Simpson had four players in double figures.

Esther Wofford finished with a team-high 21 points and also recorded 5 steals.  Whitney Rodriguez was a rebound shy of a double-double as she wound up with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Fallon Greenhaw added 14 points of her own going 4-9 from the floor. Off the bench, Kelsie Jurin tallied 19 points, 8 assists, five steals, and four rebounds.

With the loss, Simpson falls to 5-7 on the season and they snap a 3-game winning streak. The Red Wolves ended a 3-game losing streak with the win and are now 5-3 on the campaign.

The Red Hawks will travel for a pair of road games first against Corban University on December 2nd at 5 pm.
