KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Simpson University women's basketball gets a road win against No. 20 Oregon Tech, 62-58.
Simpson has handed OIT its only two losses of the year and has beaten the Hustlin' Owls in all of the last three contests. Â This is first time Simpson women's basketball has ever beaten Oregon Tech in Klamath Falls.
The Red Hawks led all night and even by as much as 15 before Oregon Tech tied the game with a minute left in the 4th quarter. Coach Derrick Pringle leaned on his freshman,
Savanna Fernandez, as she drained a huge three to give Simpson the lead once again.
The Red Hawks' defense was suffocating holding OIT to just 29 percent from the floor. Simpson lived at the free throw line, knocking down 21 of 28 shots from the stripe.
Whitney Rodriguez finished with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the Red Hawks.
Simpson will head home for a three game homestand beginning with back to back games with Northwest Indian College on November 25th and 26th in the James M. Grant Center.
