MERCED, Calif. - Simpson Volleyball fell in a 5 set match to UC Merced, 25-20, 25-15, 20-25, 22-25, 15-11.
The Red Hawks battled back from being two sets down to having the lead in the fifth set, but the Bobcats prevailed finishing the final set strong to come away victorioius.
Merced had three players with double digit kills for the game: Jaysonna Johnson (15), Dominique Andrews (14), Rachael Schaefer (10). Â Bobcat setter, Brooke Wheeler finished with a game-high 51 assists and also had 20 digs for the match.
For Simpson,
Ashley Cervantes led the way with 19 kills followed by
Ashley Job with 12.
The Red Hawks have now lost 10 consecutive matches and are 3-13 overall and 0-6 in conference.
Simpson will now look ahead to a Cal Pac meeting with Pacific Union in Angwin, Calif. on October 8th at 8 p.m.
