Simpson University men's soccer team scores two goals in the last three minutes to force double overtime against Cal Pac opponent Pacific Union College.

In what was a battle from the start, the Pacific Union Pioneers scored the first two goals giving them a demanding 2-0 lead. The Red Hawks would respond in the twenty-sixth minute, when sophomore Jacob Muniz scored on a chip in, putting the Red Hawks down one, 2-1.

In the second half, the Pioneers would again strike first in the sixty-fifth minute giving them a commanding 3-1 lead. Simpson would go cold until the last three minutes of the game as freshmen Brandon Jacobsen scored off an assist from juniors David Dinius and Noah Miranda in eighty-sixth minute for a score of 3-2. And then Dinius would score again for the Red Hawks in the eighty-ninth minute, tying the game 3-3 and forcing an overtime.

Neither team was able to score in both overtimes, which end the game in a tie 3-3.

Sophomore Michael Jones recorded six saves while playing in one hundred and ten minutes. Jacobsen led the Red Hawks with six shots, two shots on goal and one goal. Dinius followed with three shots, one shot on goal, one assist and one goal.

The Red Hawks will return to action on Oct. 14 at UC Merced. Kick-off set for 3pm.
