Women's Soccer Cruises Past Mills

Simpson University women's soccer team completed the sweep over Mills College winning 3-1, Oct. 17 at the Simpson Soccer Field.

The Red Hawks scored first when senior captain Leah O'Halloran chipped a shot in the first two minutes for a 1-0 lead. Junior Brook Gaddy would score at the five minute mark to increase their lead 2-0. Mills would strike back, scoring in the thirty seventh minute to close the gap 2-1 headed into halftime. The Red Hawks outshot the Cyclones 16 to 2 in the first half.

In the second half, Simpson would continue it's dominance holding the Cycylones to zero shots. Senior Amanda Tedesco would score in the seventy third minute to give the Red Hawks the lead and seal the victory 3-1.

Simpson outshot Mills 28-2 for the match. Tedesco lead all players with six shots and three shots on goal. Gaddy and freshmen Erin Delgado followed with five shots and O'Halloran contributed with four shots, two being on goal.

The Red Hawks return to action Oct 23 at University of Antelope Valley. Kick-off is set for 2pm.
