Jackson Bennett is an assistant coach for the baseball team. Bennett is entering his second year on the Red Hawks coaching staff as he served as a graduate assistant coach last year. 

Bennett specializes in assisting the pitchers and the weight training program. 

Before starting his coaching career, Bennett started his collegiate career at Modesto College where he spent two years with the Pirates. Over two years, he made 18 appearances in 21.1 innings of work while allowing just one earned run for an astounding 0.42 ERA. 

Bennett transferred to Simpson in the fall of 2019 where he spent the next three seasons in a Red Hawks jersey. In his first season, Bennett was used exclusively out of the bullpen and led the team with two saves in the COVID-shortened season. Posting a solid 4.40 ERA with a 1-1 record and punching out 18 batters in 14.1 innings of work while holding opposing hitters to a staggering .185 BA. 

In his second year, Bennett transitioned into the Red Hawks starting rotation and posted a 5.94 ERA in 36.1 innings of work while striking out 38 batters. 

In his final year as a Red Hawk Bennett transitioned back into the Red Hawks bullpen where he saw five starts and appeared in 19 games on the bump. In 39.0 innings of work, he punched out 40 batters for a 1-4 record with one save. 

Bennett is currently second all-time in program history with a 9.69 K/9 in his career. 

During his time in the classroom, Bennett graduated in 2023 with his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. 

Bennett is currently pursuing his Master of Arts in Business Administration.
