David Irving was hired as the Head Men's Volleyball Coach in June of 2019.
Irving comes to Redding after a season as the interim head coach for the Chico State women's program. He served as an assistant coach for the Wildcats on two separate occasions and also served as the club team head coach, leading it to a Northern California Collegiate Volleyball League championship. From 2016-18, Irving led the Sonoma State men's club program to a ninth-place national finish.
In an administrative role, Irving serves as the liaison for the Southern California Collegiate Volleyball League (SCCVL), which is comprised of collegiate club teams from the state.
As a player, Irving was vital in reinstating the men's club team at Azusa Pacific University in 2007 where he competed for four years. He graduated from APU in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in physical education and received a master's in Kinesiology from Chico State in 2016.
