College: Simons is entering her first season playing for the Red Hawks. She transferred to Simpson from Fresno City College. Her academic accomplishments include receiving the Leon S Peters Honors Scholarship and being on the Dean’s List.

High School: Simons played two years of varsity volleyball and three years of varsity badminton at Bullard High School. Her volleyball honors include earning the Freshman MVP and JV coaches’ awards, receiving second team all-league honors, and being team captain her senior year. Her academic achievements include graduating as valedictorian of her class and being a four-year scholar-athlete. She played club volleyball for the Fresno Volleyball Club, Central Cal Volleyball Club, and Pacific Premier Volleyball Club.

Personal: Cassandra is the daughter of Mark and Denise Simons. Her hobbies include hiking, reading, watching HGTV, trying new things, and traveling. Her career goal is to become a nurse who works with women who are pregnant or hope to be and/or care for newborns.

Reason for coming to SU: “I came to Simpson because I liked the small school environment and the influence of Christian faith, I had the opportunity to play volleyball, and Simpson has a good nursing program.”
