Simpson finishes top five on its home lake

LAKE SHASTA, Calif. - Simpson University charged into the inaugural Bass Angler Magazine Tournament Trail- Scholastic Series event at Lake Shasta.

Forging the way with four other universities including Chico and Oregon State. It was a great boost of camaraderie on the West Coast.

Aiden and Dylan Grad finished the event in 3rd Place with 12.22 Pounds of Shasta Spotted Bass. They targeted fish on wind-blown points utilizing their ActiveTarget 2 and Lowrance graphs.

Experts with Forward Facing Sonar. They used the Yamamoto Scope Shad and mid-strolling baits to secure the bag.

Brayden Bishop and Jacob Greene finished 5th in the field as they fished on the Simpson Team Boat. Utilizing key baits like the Yamamoto Hula Grub and an Underspin, they caught a competitive bag.

They mentioned using Epic Baits Dropshot weights and keeping the boat packed with Bridgford Jerky.

The team utilized their Costa Sunglasses to shield their eyes in the windy conditions and many wore Simms Products to stay warm in late January weather.

The next Collegiate Event for the BAM Scholastic Series is at Lake Don Pedro on March 2nd. This is a vital event as any college angler can join and earn valued ACA School of the Year Points!
