FORREST GROVE, Ore - The Red Hawk wrestlers traveled north to take part in the Boxer Open held by Pacific University.
The Red Hawks had a dominant performance at the Boxer Open as 11 wrestlers placed including five first-place winners and three second-place winners.
The five first-place winners included
Christopher Guizar (141lb),
Tyler Diaz (149lb),
Tomas Jacobo (157lb),
William Schwertscharf (165lb), and
Luke Miller (197lb).
Three second-place finishes belonged to
Arthur Para (133lb),
Colton Silva (149lb), and
Devonya Kee (157lb).
Other notable placers included
Kyle Stevens (165lb) and
Bryant Bartlett (184lb) finishing fifth as
Malachi Dowdell (174lb) came in sixth place.
Simpson picked up three dual-match victories on Saturday night as they took down Linfield University (45-10), Pacific University (40-17), and Treasure Valley Community College (47-12).
