Simpson Cheer Makes History

NEW ORLEANS, Loui. - Simpson University's competitive cheer squad battled and took part in its first-ever cheer competition in New Orleans, LA in the Battle in the Big Easy. 

The Battle in the Big Easy cheer and dance tournament consisted of various NAIA schools from all across the country. 

Simpson made its cheer competition debut Thursday night at 7:22 PM against Keiser University and Our Lady of the Lake. 

The team scored a 59.2 score and executed its routine to perfection as they were deducted zero points. 

This is a huge milestone for Simpson University's cheer program as they garnished a first-place finish in its first-ever cheer competition. 

The Red Hawks will hit the mats Friday at 11:30 AM on day two of the Battle in the Big Easy Tournament.
