PRESCOTT, Ariz. - The Simpson wrestling team competed in the Mile High Open hosted by Embry-Riddle University this weekend.
Day one of the Mile High Open in Prescott, AZ saw three Red Hawks go undefeated in their matches today. Sophomore
Christopher Guizar had three hard fought victories.
His final match of the day Chris showed his dominance over his Arizona Christian opponent, a CCC conference rival lifting Chris in the CCC rankings.
Tomas Jacobo had three victories that were inspiring to the team as Tomas fought back in two matches to score major decisions then scored a technical fall in his last match.
Jacob Vincent had three victories, one Major decision and two pins. Vincent was superior as he overwhelmed his opponents.
Saturday will give all of our team more opportunities for victories as we start fresh in the morning.
On the 2nd and final day of the Mile High Tournament,
Jacob Vincent went undefeated. Vincent pinned three of his opponents and was outstanding in his effort and technique. His match total for the weekend was 7-0 with 5 pins.
