SANTA BARBARA, CA - Simpson women's basketball fell in the second half of a back-to-back with 4th ranked Westmont College, 91-47.
The Warriors' 33 first-quarter points were more than enough to give them a substantial lead as they drilled eight three-pointers in the first 10 minutes. Westmont cooled off from three the rest of the game, but Simpson was unable to recover.
For Simpson,
Ryane Bradbury was the only Red Hawk to finish in double figures as she tallied 13 points and eight rebounds to lead both categories.
Turnovers plagued Simpson as Westmont's suffocating defense forced 21 turnovers and 23 points off turnovers.
The Red Hawks extremely difficult schedule doesn't get much easier as they face Arizona Christian at home next weekend for a two-game series. Nearly every team Simpson has faced in non-conference has been ranked nationally. SU faces ACU on Friday with tip-off set for 6 PM in the Grant Center.
