ATHERTON, Calif. - After a day hiatus between Friday's doubleheader and Sunday's doubleheader, an off-day proved to be huge for the Red Hawks, as they tallied a combined 29 runs in the two games despite each only lasting five innings.
In one of the most dominating performances in Simpson softball history, the Red Hawks topped Menlo College, 10-1, 19-3.
In game one,
Chardae Hoskins picked up the win only allowing two hits and one earned run in the complete game performance.
Madison Wright went 3-3 with a homerun and four RBIs while
Courtney Clevenger was 3-4 with a pair of RBIs highlighting SU's offensive onslaught.
Game two was more of the same for the Red Hawks as they continued to dominate with an 11 run 3rd inning that quickly put the game out of reach. It was a season-high in hits and runs in a game where all but one Simpson batter got in the hit column and nine different players recorded RBIs.
Sydney Moorhead tallied her 8th win of the year in the circle for the Red Hawks giving up just two runs in the five innings.
As conference play approaches, the Red Hawks appear to be peaking at just the right time with the outstanding performances at the tail end of the series with Menlo College. The Red Hawks will face William Jessup on the road on March 13th at 12 pm in Rocklin, Calif.
