OROVILLE, Calif. - The Simpson cross country team ran at the Butte Invite on Friday for its final race before the Linfield Invite and conference championships.
Every runner had a comparable time to the four-mile run they had at Shasta College the other week.
Given the fact that the butte Invite had a steep hill that proved challenging but not impossible for the Red Hawk runners to overcome.
Every Red Hawk runner fared well and overcame this difficult course as they posted similar times to the Shasta College course. This marked another huge step for this year's Red Hawk Cross Country team as they continue to make strides.
The most improved time came from
Cade Salsedo as he never missed a beat and improved his overall time compared to the other week at Shasta College.
But it proved to be a team effort, as the Red Hawks cross country team had other participants from the men's wrestling team, Colton Silva and Benny Peralta.
The cross country team has one more final race next week at Linfield University in McMinnville, OR.
