REDDING, Calif. - This past Thursday, March 17th, Simpson Softball hosted La Sierra for a two day, four game series. 

In Game one, Sophomore Kylee Potes had an impressive seven innings on the mound, holding La Sierra to only three hits all game. Potes also struck out 12 of the 25 batters she faced. While Potes held things down defensively, her teammates did the same on offense.

Eight of the nine batters in the lineup would all finish the game with at least one hit, making this win a huge team win. Right fielder Madison Greco would lead her team in RBI's, finishing with two, followed by DP, Alexis Zamora with one. 

Game two would be a tough loss for the Red Hawks as they would fall to the Golden Eagles 5-2. Despite having eight hits compared to La Sierra's five, Simpson would struggle to get those runs scored and off the bases, leaving seven runners on base. 

On Friday March 18th, Simpson would have a rocky start to the day, losing the first game. La Sierra would simply out hit SU, as the Lady Red Hawks would struggle against pitcher Camile Nolte. Despite the loss, sophomore Amy LeGrande ended the game with two of Simpson's five hits, one of which was a two-run homerun. 

However, Simpson would not go down without a fight, and would come back to beat La Sierra 4-0 in the final game of the series. SU's pitcher Anahi Grijalva would only allow La Sierra two hits all game.

After finishing this home series with a win, the Lady Red Hawks will be traveling to Rancho Palos Verdes, CA this weekend to play Marymount.
